Manager Mick McCarthy is set to field a much-changed side as the Blues travel to Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup. The Town boss yesterday confirmed that with various loanees departed or unavailable, keeper Scott Loach, right-back Elliott Hewitt and striker Michael Chopra will start, while the club have received confirmation that new signings David McGoldrick and Aaron Mclean were registered in time to play.

The Wales U21 right-back underwent hip surgery towards the end of last season while with his former club Macclesfield and finally made his Blues debut as a sub in the 3-0 victory over Millwall before appearing from the bench again in last weekend’s loss at Leeds.

The Blues, who have now won three in a row themselves, went in front in the first half when Campbell converted Aaron Cresswell’s cross, then after the break Murphy netted the second and Campbell added the third from the penalty spot.
